How to Vote in a Special Election:
Mailing of Sample Ballots: Sample ballots will be mailed out to each voter in the district between August 24 and September 23
Mailing of Vote By Mail Ballots: Vote By Mail ballots will be delivered on September 5 by elections officials.

Apply to Vote By Mail: Voters can apply to vote by mail between September 5 and September 26.

Register to Vote: Voters must register to vote by September 18 in order to be eligible to vote in the Assembly District 51 Special Election.

Or you can go online by visiting https://lavote.net/vrstatus and entering your relevant information.
To become a registered voter in the State of California, you can do so by visiting your local DMV branch or by going online to registertovote.ca.gov.
Find Your Polling Place: No later than September 26, a list of polling places for each precinct will be published in a newspaper of general circulation within the district.

Vote! Election day is on Tuesday, October 3rd and polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m.
It is also the last day for Vote By Mail ballots to be received or turned in personally by the voter at any polling place in the jurisdiction. Vote By Mail ballots must be postmarked by election day and received by election officials no later than three days after the election.
